What are the benefits of AEON Member Plus (AMP) Mastercard Gold?

You’ll get 8% cashback at AEON Stores and AEON BiG Hypermarkets on the 20th and 28th of every month, which is AEON’s Thank You Day, capped at RM100 a month.

Dining earns you 5% cashback, capped at RM25 a month. On every other purchase, you’ll be collecting 2 AEON Points for every RM2 spent at AEON stores and AEON BiG on regular days, 1 AEON Point for every RM1 on "member recognition" spend, 1 AEON Point for every RM4 on most other spending, and 3 AEON Points for every RM2 spent overseas. You can redeem 200 AEON Points for RM1.

Enjoy airport lounge, travel insurance and free parking benefits

Beyond the everyday shopping perks, the principal cardholder gets 3 complimentary Plaza Premium Lounge visits a year in Malaysia, as long as you spend RM500 (single or combined) within 30 days before or after your visit, plus travel insurance of up to RM200,000 when you charge your flight tickets to the card.

You'll also get a virtual card the moment your application is approved, so you can start shopping online before the physical card even arrives, and up to 2 hours of free parking at selected AEON Malls and AEON BiG outlets (a 10% convenience fee plus 6% SST still applies on top).

There's a 0% Instalment Payment Plan at participating merchants for up to 36 months, and the card itself is made from biodegradable PLA plastic rather than standard PVC.

What are the fees related to this card?

The annual fee is RM95 for the principal card and RM60 for a supplementary card, though it's waived in your first year and stays waived after that as long as you make at least 12 transactions a year.

Spending overseas adds a 1% currency conversion fee on top of the Visa/Mastercard exchange rate. You can replace a damaged card for free, but a lost or stolen one costs RM35 to replace the first time and RM50 after that.

You'll also be charged a RM25 government service tax per card, per year, on the physical principal and supplementary cards (the virtual card is exempt).

Who can apply?

The principal cardholder must be at least 21 years old. A supplementary cardholder must be at least 18 years old.

You also must meet a minimum annual income of RM36,000 (roughly RM3,000 a month) if you're Malaysian, or RM48,000 a year if you're a Japanese national, Malaysian permanent resident, or under the MM2H programme.

Documents you'll need to apply

  • A copy of both sides of your IC
  • Latest 3 months of payslips, Form BE with tax payment receipt, EA form, or the latest 6 months of payslips if you're a commission earner
  • If you're self-employed: your Business Registration Certificate (or Form 9/24/49), the latest 6 months of company bank statements, or Form B with a tax payment receipt
  • A working email address and mobile number, since AEON Credit sends a verification code to confirm your application

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this card worth it if I don't shop at AEON that often?
It depends. The 8% Thank You Day cashback and 3x AEON Points only apply to AEON-related spending, so if you rarely shop there, you'll miss out on the card's biggest perks. The 5% dining cashback and lounge visits are useful regardless of where you shop.
How does the Gold compare to the Classic version?
Gold gives you a bigger AEON cashback rate (8% versus 5%), adds a 5% dining cashback, and 3 lounge visits a year plus RM200,000 in travel insurance that Classic doesn’t have. In exchange, you'll need a higher income (RM36,000 versus RM24,000 a year) and pay a higher annual fee (RM95 versus RM30).
Can self-employed people apply?
Yes. Instead of payslips, you'll submit your Business Registration Certificate (or Form 9/24/49) along with 6 months of company bank statements or your Form B with a tax receipt.
Does the virtual card cost anything extra?
No. It has no annual fee, no SST, and no replacement fee, and you get it the moment your application is approved, so you can start using it online while you wait for the physical card.
