What Is Affin Islamic Personal Financing-i?
This is a clean, unsecured Islamic personal financing facility based on the Tawarruq contract, offered to eligible borrowers for personal consumption rather than luxury purposes. Applicants must disclose the purpose of financing in the application form.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be between 21 and 58 years old. The facility is open to pensioners, confirmed fixed-income government and GLC employees, and salaried staff, including those under the Special Financing Programme.
What Does Affin Islamic Personal Financing-i Offer?
Financing amounts range from RM2,500 to RM250,000, with repayment terms of 2 to 10 years. Profit rates range from 3.50% to 5.30% per annum for the full tenure. The payment table sets out the applicable rates in detail.
How Are Repayments Made?
Three repayment options are available: salary deduction, auto-debit for account holders whose salary is credited to Affin Islamic Bank, or Standing Instruction.
Is a Guarantor or Collateral Required?
No guarantor or collateral is required. Applicants must instead make a 1-month advance payment and a 2-month instalment amount as a security deposit, deducted from the approved financing limit upon disbursement.
What Fees and Charges Apply?
A statutory Stamp Duty fee applies, calculated at 0.5% of the financing amount, along with an Agency fee. Affin Islamic Bank does not charge a processing fee or early termination fee.
Can Someone With Poor Credit History Apply?
Approval depends on credit history with other financial institutions. Outstanding credit card, personal loan, home loan, or car loan debts are recorded in CCRIS/CTOS, a system that tracks credit information rather than blacklisting borrowers. Applicants with a history of irregular payments improve their approval chances by maintaining timely payments going forward, and Affin Islamic Bank is more likely to approve applications from borrowers who show consistent financial management rather than accumulating further debt.
