What can a CIMB Cash Plus Personal Loan be used for?
A personal loan can cover a wide range of needs: starting a business, renovating a home, funding an investment, or paying for a child's education. CIMB Cash Plus Personal Loan can be used for any of these purposes, as long as the amount requested is reasonable and the borrower can manage the repayments.
How much can be borrowed?
The loan amount ranges from RM2,000 to RM100,000, and it's unsecured, so no collateral is needed.
CIMB customers with a monthly gross income of RM30,000 and above may qualify for up to RM300,000, subject to eligibility.
Interest rates are fixed, ranging from 4.38% p.a. to 19.88% p.a. This works out to an effective interest rate of between 8.08% p.a. and 31.42% p.a., with repayment terms of up to 5 years.
The 4.38% p.a. rate is only available to CIMB Preferred account holders and is subject to CIMB's final approval. All other rates and loan approvals are also subject to CIMB's approval criteria.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. CIMB Cash Plus Personal Loan has:
- No processing fees
- No stamp duty
- No early settlement fees
- No lock-in period
- No hidden charges
Borrowers receive the full approved loan amount with no deductions, and can settle the loan early at any time without penalty.
What are the monthly repayment terms?
If the loan is disbursed between the 1st and 15th of a month, the first instalment is due on the 4th of the following month. If disbursed between the 16th and 31st, the first instalment is due on the 4th of the month after that.
Example:
- Disbursed 1–15 March → first instalment due 4 April
- Disbursed 16–31 March → first instalment due 4 May
Monthly instalments are deducted automatically from a CIMB Current or Savings Account via Standing Instruction.
A late payment penalty of 1% p.a. applies to the outstanding instalment amount from the overdue date.
Can the loan be settled early?
Yes, at no extra cost. Borrowers need to notify CIMB in writing at least one month before the intended settlement date.
Why choose a CIMB Cash Plus Personal Loan?
Once all required documents are submitted, CIMB processes the application, approves it, and disburses the funds within a few business days.
Since there's no processing fee, borrowers receive 100% of the approved loan amount.
What documents are needed to apply?
Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a minimum monthly income of RM2,000.

Can someone with a poor credit history apply?
CCRIS and CTOS record a borrower's credit history, including outstanding debts on credit cards, personal loans, home loans, and car loans. These systems track credit history; they don't blacklist anyone.
Borrowers with a history of late or missed payments should focus on making payments on time going forward. CIMB is more likely to approve an application from someone who shows they're managing their finances responsibly, rather than taking on more debt.
